Seller / Maker Privacy Notice
Short version:
We process your data to run the marketplace, comply with the law, and promote your work as part of offering a curated platform.
What data we collect
When you open a shop on Among Makers, we collect:
- Contact and account details
- Business information including organisation number
- Payment and payout information (via Stripe)
- Shop content, listings, and communication
Additional data for legal reporting (DAC7):
To comply with EU tax transparency rules, we may also collect:
- Tax Identification Number (TIN)
- Country(ies) of tax residence
- Date of birth (for individuals)
- Total compensation earned via the platform
- Number of transactions
- Fees and comissions charged
Why we process it
We use maker data to:
- Operate and administer your shop
- Process payments and payouts
- Meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations
- Provide platform support
- Promote the marketplace and its sellers
- Comply with EU reporting requirements (DAC7)
Legal reporting obligations (DAC7)
Under EU law effective from 1 January 2023, marketplace platforms are required to:
- Collect and verify seller identity and tax information
- Track seller earnings and activity
- Report this information to Skatteverket
This means we may share the following with Skatteverket:
- Your identity and business details
- Your tax residence and TIN
- Financial information related to your sales
This information may be exchanged between tax authorities across EU member states.
Providing this data is obligatory to use the platform as a seller.
Platform promotion
By keeping an active shop on Among Makers, you agree that we may feature your shop or products across our website and digital channels. This is a core part of running the marketplace and cannot be opted out of while remaining active.
Marketing emails
You may opt out of receiving our newsletter without affecting your shop.
You will still receive essential service messages related to orders, payouts, policy changes, and legal updates.
Payments & financial data
Payments are processed securely via Stripe Connect Express. Among Makers primarily relies on Stripe-provided account identifiers and does not routinely access or store full bank account details. However, where required for legal or regulatory compliance (including under DAC7), we may collect, access, and retain certain financial information, including bank account details.
Data retention
We retain relevant financial and transactional data for up to 7 years to comply with EU accounting and tax laws.
Data collected for legal reporting obligations may be retained as required by applicable regulations.
Seller responsibility
Each maker is an independent seller and is responsible for their own products, fulfilment, and buyer communication.
Your rights
You have the same GDPR rights as any individual under EU law, including access, correction, and deletion of personal data where legally possible.
